Vijay Mallya unveils Bangalore Royal Challengers

Liquor baron Vijay Mallya today unveiled the Rahul Dravid-led Royal Challengers, the city team for the the BCCI backed Indian Premier League (IPL) beginning here on April 18.

''We have the best batsmen, bowlers, all-rounders and wicket keepers,'' he said.

The team includes apart from Dravid Misbah-ul-Haq, Jacques Kallis, Ross Tayler, Chandrapaul, Abdul Razzak, Nathen Bracken, Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble.

Mr Mallya, who owns the Royal Challengers said, ''we are more than happy and have got the team we wanted. We have got world class players in each department and a right mix of experience and youth.

Our main aim is to play smart sensible cricket with a high degree of consistency.'' They are ''fantastic'' in terms of cricketing talents ''which is what matters on the field,'' he added.
